Fascicules 1-20 were published between 1835 and 1841. Fascicules 21-25 were issued between 1842 (or 1843) and 1844. Fascucules 26-30 were issued in 1870. Zuccarini wrote the descriptions, but his connection with the work ended with Fasc. 25 (1844), two years before his death. After Siebold's death in 1866 compilation of the work was undertaken by Miquel, who edited Fasc. 26-130. These together with the t.p. for Vol. 2 were published in 1870.

At foot of t.p.: Vol. 1 - "Centuria prima"; Vol. II - "Volumen secundum, ab auctoribus inchoatum relictum ad finem perduxit F.A. Guil. Miquel".

Vol.1 has added decorative t.p. with engraved vignette (lithograph) of the monument built by Siebold on a visit to Japan in 1826 to commemorate the achievements of Kaempfer and Thunberg, and containing the text: "E. Kaempfer, C. P. Thunberg. Ecce virent vestra hic planta florentque quotannis cultorum memores serta feruntque pia. Ph. Fr. de Siebold"; and at foot of added t.p.: "Monimentum in memoriam Engelberti Kaempferi et Caroli Petri Thunbergii in horto botanico insulae Dezima / cura et sumtibus Ph. Fr. de Siebold positum MDCCCXXVI" [1826].

Vol.1 has additional decorative dedication page, preceding t.p. proper, with text: "Hommage à son altesse impériale Madame la Princesse d'Orange Anne Paulowna née Grande Duchesse de Russie".

Vol.1 has half title: "Flora japonica. Sectio prima continens plantas ornatui vel usui inservientes".

Vol. 2, t.p. verso: "Hujus voluminis paginas 1-44 curavit b. Zuccarini, sequentes F.A. Guil. Miqel, speciminibus plantarum siccis, tabulis et schedis a b. de Siebold relictis usus".

Vol. 2 has 51 plates, with an extra plate numbered 124b.

Paper covers from Fasc. I (1835) and Fasc. XX (1841) bound in at back of Vol. 1; paper cover bound in at back of Vol. 2 has printed text "Volumen secundum. Fasc." and is dated "1843" or "1845".
