Previously owned by Daniel Hanbury and then presented to RPS by Thomas Hanbury, together with L. tabulae vegetationis in Brasilia physiognomiam illustrantes / Martius (1856), in 1886. Presented to Daniel Hanbury by G. Bentham on the instruction of Martius.

First note: "A second copy of the Papilonaceae (fasc. 24 et 29), which is on inferior paper (for the text). I wish, that Mr. Bentham would present it to the Pharmaceutical Society or to Mr. Dan. Hanbury, if he has not a more convenient destination for it. NB. Such copies with inferior text paper are some printed for the collaborators." This is followed by "received this work from Mr. Bentham, March 1862. When I have no further occasion for it, it should find a place in the Library of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, and I desire that my Excos should so dispose of it. 12 April 1862. DH."
Third note on separate piece of paper: "La Mortola, Ventimiglia, Italy, 26 June 1886. The above memorandum made by my late brother only came under my observation this year (1886). I now send to the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain this book together with L. Tabulae vegetationis in Brasilia. E. Martii 1856. Thomas Hanbury, Exor to Daniel Hanbury.
